How to Talk to your Child About Teen Dating Violence

Many parents and caregivers feel anxiety in navigating conversations with teens about dating. There are changing norms around digital communication, social media, and consent that can muddy the waters for adults who are trying to relate to teens and keep them safe. If we add in the worry of (or presence of) Teen Dating Violence (TDV), the term most often used for domestic violence in adolescent relationships, these conversations can become even more challenging.

This presentation will provide helpful knowledge on how to spot TDV red flags, how to talk to your child about those red flags, and how to support your child before, during, and after they experience harmful relationship dynamics.
