Emily works with young adults and adults presenting with a range of mental health concerns, and specializes in eating disorders. She uses an integrative approach, tailoring evidence-based interventions to meet the client’s individual needs and drawing from her experience as both a licensed mental health counselor and provisionally-licensed art therapist. Emily is particularly interested in supporting individuals struggling with eating disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns. She seeks to help her clients achieve meaningful change with a combination including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), radically-open DBT, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and enhanced CBT, motivational interviewing, and art therapy, among others. Within this integrative framework, Emily holds a person-centered and trauma-informed lens and offers compassion, humor and directness to her clients. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is an essential foundation for growth and change, and she strives to create a space that is collaborative, warm, and accepting.

Emily earned her masters degree in Mental Health Counseling with an Art Therapy Specialization from Caldwell University. Prior to joining Birch Hill Behavioral Health, Emily worked as an inpatient clinician and art therapist at Monte Nido Walden. At Walden, she provided individual and group therapy to support reduction of eating disorder behaviors, self-harm, and co-existing mental health concerns.
